BDIH

With a few exceptions, all BIOTURM products which were launched during the first years meet with the strict criteria of BDIH for certified natural cosmetics.

The seal attests the use of natural raw materials, such as vegetable oils, fats or waxes as well as herbal extracts or essential oils and flavours of controlled organic cultivation or wild harvesting. Also ecological compatibility of the products is most important. Products must be produced environmental- and resource-friendly to get the certificate. Furthermore the individual raw materials must be easily biodegradable. The compliance with the criteria is constantly reviewed by the BDIH.

COSMOS

Newer products are certified by "COSMOS natural". COSMOS is an association of the BDIH and four other European certifiers for organic cosmetics from France, Great Britain, Italy and Belgium. Their objective is to develop a uniform European standard and to harmonize the rules of certification. The compliance with the criteria is constantly reviewed also.

NATURE THANX

Nature Thanx is a new quality standard in Germany which has been especially developed for close-to-nature therapy-related caring products (“naturtreue therapieunterstützende Pflegeprodukte”). The products have to be as close to nature as possible, their basis must be of natural origin. In addition, some nature-identical ingredients (such as e. g. urea) are tolerated up to a certain amount if such ingredients are indispensable for the therapy-related effect of these products. These ingredients (four at the moment) are also found in plant or animal organisms, but they cannot be obtained in the method defined for natural cosmetics.

ICEA

ICEA (Istituto Certificazione Etica Ambientale) is an Italian certifier with the objective to fulfil the responsibility towards people and nature. ICEA is among most important bodies of this sector in Italy and Europe where it operates to favour a fair and socially sustainable development that ranges from organic farming to other bio related sectors.

ICEA accepts nature identical urea produced for cosmetics in its standards – so our skincare products with urea could be certified by ICEA as natural cosmetics. Urea has a positive effect on the skin without side effects and is therefore an important ingredient of our products in therapy-related care of neurodermatitis, psoriasis and dry skin.
